West Orange was formed as a township in April of 1863 and consists of 12.2 square miles with a population of over 45,000 people.
The town has eleven schools; seven elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school. West Orange is also home to Turtle Back Zoo, Edison National Historical Sight and the Cody Arena. It is a beautiful community in Essex County boasting tree lined streets and a short seventeen mile commute to New York City.
