Millburn has a rich history, it began as a colonial settlement with agricutlural origins which eventually turned into a Victorian, residential community. The old victorian charm is still seen today in the Hessian House, the Cora Hartsham Arboretum and the Paper Mill playhouse.
Millburn has a population of of over 19,700 people as of the 2000 concensus with seven public schools five of them are elementary schools there is one middle school and one high school. Millburn High School was awarded the Blue Ribon School Award of Excellence which is the highest award and American school can receive.
The town is located less than twenty miles from Manhatten and has its own public transportation, which includes NJ Transit bus and train lines.
